The Traditional Reiki Institute, Inc. offers Reiki healing to people suffering with chronic and debilitating conditions and to those with potentially fatal illnesses. In this capacity we work whenever appropriate with the client’s primary physician to integrate Reiki healing into the treatment process. Although Reiki training through TRI is open to anyone, we have chosen to limit our hands-on treatments to those with particularly difficult medical conditions that erode hope, quality of life, and financial resources. The Traditional Reiki Institute does not charge fees for Reiki sessions with its practitioners, although clients are encouraged to offer an energy exchange of some sort either in the form of time or money as part of their personal commitment to their own healing process. Money given in exchange for treatments is not considered tax deductible.

Reiki treatments are completely safe and noninvasive. During sessions a client lies fully clothed on a table while practitioners place their hands in specific positions on or above the body for 30-60 minutes. The receiver usually experi- ences relaxation, peacefulness, and warmth. Many fall asleep. Reiki treatments may also be performed from a distance when it is not practical for the client to be present.

Treatments are done by practitioners trained in Traditional Reiki through TRI and are conducted according to the professional and ethical guidelines established for Institute practitioners by its Board of Directors. Treatment protocol involves a series of treatments followed by evaluations and is structured on the Case Manager system, with sessions conducted by teams of two to four practitioners trained in the most effective methods of Reiki healing. Hands-on Reiki sessions are limited to those with chronic or terminal illnesses on a first come first serve, available resource basis. Those who apply to us for help for whom there are insufficient hands-on resources will be assigned a Distance Case Manager who will arrange for them to receive distance healing. Those on the distance list will be placed on a waiting list for hands- on treatment as resources become available.
